The United States has told its citizens to leave Russia immediately because of the war in Ukraine and the risk of arbitrary arrest or harassment by Russian law enforcement.
“US citizens residing in or traveling to Russia should leave the country immediately,” the US Embassy in Moscow said.
“Because of the risk of unjust detention, the movement has raised awareness.”
“Don’t travel to Russia,” the embassy said.
The United States has repeatedly warned its citizens to leave Russia.
The last such public warning was made in September after President Vladimir Putin ordered partial mobilization.
