Two men stand trial after being accused of a gruesome kidnapping in which a Sydney man had his finger amputated.

Earlier this month, Strike Force Burche officers raided two homes in Smithfield and Cartwright and arrested two men, ages 24 and 25.
They were subsequently charged with a series of kidnapping crimes, including unintentionally detaining a couple and joining a criminal group.
An older man was also charged with property damage in a fire in a separate incident in which a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a Bosley Park residence on January 22nd.
The charges are the latest in a series of recent violent kidnappings in Sydney that police say are linked to an organized crime group that uses victims to extort money.
Both men appeared in Fairfield District Court earlier this month and were formally refused to appear again in Parramatta District Court on May 1.
