Police investigate after a man was allegedly set alight at Deniliquin Ute Muster campsite
Police say a 22-year-old man has sustained significant facial burns after allegedly being set alight at the Deniliquin Ute Muster in southern New South Wales on Saturday.
Emergency services arrived at the muster’s campsite area about 6:40pm, responding to reports the man had been set on fire by another man who allegedly ignited an aerosol can nearby.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the victim onsite, before he was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
Police say he is in a serious condition.
The Murray River Police District is investigating and has released images of a man who may be able to help with enquiries.
The images show a Caucasian male in his early 20s who is about 170cm tall, with a brown mullet hairstyle.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident or the pictured man to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
