New tower project near famous hotel
The Breakfast Creek Hotel may have another large next-door neighbor with a new residential development proposed for 40% more than the local zoning allows.

The vacant lot at 92 Kingsford Smith Drive in Hamilton, just across the mouth of Breakfast Creek, is on one of the main thoroughfares into the city.
The 14-story, 62-unit development will exceed the area’s height limit of eight stories. Nevertheless, Mewing said it “was in line with the expectations of the community.”

Designed by architects Myers Elliet, the 62 units consist of 20 two-bedroom apartments and 42 three-bedroom apartments.
