New South Wales police indict probation officer for sex crimes
A young New South Wales police officer has been charged with a sex crime involving a teenage girl.
Police launched an investigation last December after receiving a report that a probation officer allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl.
Following an investigation, a 27-year-old man was arrested on 6 April and taken to Singleton Police Station.
He was charged with inciting others to engage in sexual acts without their consent and behaving aggressively in public places/near schools.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Singleton District Court on May 11.
This officer is a Constable Probation Officer attached to the North NSW Regional Headquarters.
The employment status of officers is currently under review.
