Man dies in police custody for alleged break-in and break-in in Goulburn, NSW
A man died in police custody in rural New South Wales after being arrested on suspicion of breaking into a home.
A 54-year-old man was arrested at noon Sunday on suspicion of aggravated break and broke into a home on Hume St, Goulburn.
He was taken to nearby Goulburn Police Station, where police complained of chest pains.

Paramedics were called to the station, but the 54-year-old man soon collapsed.
Officers started cardiopulmonary resuscitation but were unable to resuscitate the man.
New South Wales Police have confirmed that a vital investigative team from the Murray River Police District will investigate the death of a man.
Investigations are independently reviewed by the Monaro Police Department.
A report to the coroner will also be produced.
The deaths follow an increase in custodial deaths last year compared to last year.
Between June 2021 and June 2022, 106 people died in custody nationwide, 23 more than the previous year.
Twenty-two of them are recorded as having died in police custody.
