Man and woman charged with killing and torturing 7-month-old baby

A man and a woman have been charged with the murder and torture of a seven-month-old baby who was found dead in a home in northwest Brisbane.

Reinhardt (Ryan) Bosch, 33, and his partner Noemi Kondacs, 22, were charged Thursday night in the death of 7-month-old Rhuan.

The baby was found dead at the Samson Mountain Street address in Yugar earlier in the day.

Police will claim the couple prayed for the child’s body while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, reports the Courier Mail.

Investigators describe the boy’s death as “upcoming”.

The couple’s religious beliefs become part of a police investigation into a murder charge.

Police were called to the semi-rural home around 6:45 a.m. Thursday and found the infant’s body.

Inner West Crime Group Criminal Inspector David Jackman said the child appeared to have suffered “visible” injuries.

“I’ve been a detective for over 30 years and this is one of the most confrontational scenes I’ve seen,” he said.

Detective Jackman said the three knew each other and lived at the house.

A crime scene was declared and Operation Salwood was set up to investigate the circumstances of the boy’s death.

“Neither man nor woman are known to the police, nor are their addresses known,” he said.

“The investigation revealed sufficient injuries to the child to charge (the pair) with murder.

“The circumstances leading to the death we claim have occurred within the last 24 hours.

“From what I’ve seen, the kids weren’t neglected in terms of nutrition or anything, but that’s pretty conflicting.”

Police would argue that at least one of the two had reckless disregard for the baby’s life, Jackman said.

It is unknown if the baby had any underlying health problems.

In the semi-rural area, nothing was found to be inconvenient by the police.

Detective Jackman told reporters that the man and woman were very angry when they were detained by police.

“At this stage, we look back at the family history and talk to them to see if they are aware of anything that may have led to this.

The pair are scheduled to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
