Health Leaders Appointed to New Advisory Board
Our school district is proudly home to medical innovators and leaders shaping the future of healthcare in our communities.
With the recently established NSW Health System Advisory Board, two staff members from Nepean Hospital will use their expertise to help drive positive change across the NSW public health system.
Dr. Ni Nguyen and Dr. Anwar Hassan have received due recognition for their achievements and leadership contributions and will join frontline medical experts across the health system, reporting directly to New South Wales Health Secretary Susan Pearce and providing independent and impartial clinical advice on critical priorities and functions of the health system.
This council plays a key role in developing new ideas for implementation in hospitals and health services statewide.
Cardiology and Respiratory Clinician and Intensive Care Physiotherapist Anwar said, “The representation of clinicians in the Council will bring about many positive changes over the next three to five years and beyond. Overall, I would like to see everyone working in a healthcare system that can provide the best possible experience for people, patients and staff.”
Mr. Nee, a staff specialist in critical care medicine, was appointed clinical co-chair of the council. He said the establishment of the council builds on the success of the COVID-19 Clinical Council and ensures that the voice of clinical staff continues to guide decision-making.
“By connecting frontline clinicians with NSW health executives, we have enabled a coordinated response to the pandemic.
“I want the Advisory Council to be a lasting link between clinicians and system administrators. I envision it as a respectful forum for discussion that helps clinicians feel heard and truly valued,” says Nee.
“We all want to achieve the same goal of providing the best possible care to the communities where our families and friends belong.”
