Cart full of smiles | Government of New South Wales

Operated by volunteers from the Ronald McDonald House charity, the new cart tours pediatric and neonatal intensive care units twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. increase.

The cart is packed with toys, coloring books, and pencils, with plenty of items to keep your youngest patients entertained. Parents and other loved ones are also provided with snacks and hygiene products in case they forget their toothbrush or need a bottle of water.

Volunteer coordinator Mez Nessi says his favorite part of the day is seeing the smiles on the children’s faces as they walk around the ward.

“A girl’s eyes lit up when I gave her a toy and she said, ‘I love coloring!’ I feel good all the time.”

Nepean Hospital has a longstanding and proud partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charity and is extremely grateful for the support and generosity they provide to families going through difficult times.
