Australia Completely Dominant England to Win Ashes Series 4-0
It has been an incredible summer of cricket for Australia, while the winter tour down under for England, is one that they will want to forget. Five games resulted in one draw and four victories for Australia, with every single one of those victories proving to be a very simple and comfortable victory for the team.
There was no fluke here, England were not unlucky, Australia completely dominated them and took full advantage of what can only be described as one of the worst touring England teams we have seen in recent years. The fifth test victory for Australia saw yet another England batting collapse, a them that fans have become all too used to during this series, something they will want to see the back of as we move through 2022.
England have a lot of work to do, this team is well below the standard we are used to seeing from them, both with the bat and the ball. However, don’t let that take anything away from Australia, they were excellent, and had they needed to be, we could well have seen more from them.
Series Played Out Exactly Like the Odds Makers Suggested it Would
It should be mentioned that many people fancied the Australian team to win the series, they were heavy favourites to do so, and the odds on them winning 4-0 or 5-0 was very short too.
With that, many people had to search for a different and alternative way of betting, and this is where spread betting can sometimes come in. With the best sports spread betting site, fans are able to bet on more complex markets, and pay outs are not as simple as win or lose, the bigger the winning margin for your bet, the more you are paid out.
England will be glad that things are over, so they no longer have to face the Australian attack. Some members of both teams were out partying after the final game, having a beer and no doubt discussing the Test matches that had taken place, and that conversation would have been far better for the Aussies in attendance.
What’s Next?
The next step for Australia is simply to kick on and keep going in the right direction. The 2022 cricketing calendar is still up in the air at the moment, though the team will be playing more games that we have seen them play in 2020 and 2021.
The Ashes is the biggest series in Test cricket, and the momentum gained from a big win such as this one is important.
As for England, it is certainly back to the drawing board for them, and there is no part of the team that isn’t under scrutiny. Joe Root’s captaincy has been called into question, the team need to improve their batting, and the gaping hole in their bowling when Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad retire is already open and worrying.
For now though, the Aussies will enjoy what has happened, and look forward to the rest of 2022.
