A 3-year-old boy was found dead in a hot car in southwest Sydney

A young child was found dead after being trapped in a hot car in southwest Sydney.

Emergency services rushed to Glenfield’s railroad parade after reports of a child not responding after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to resuscitate the 3-year-old boy.

Police who arrived at the scene said the child had been in the car all day and the temperature was over 30 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

The vehicle owner raised the alarm when he returned to his car.

A man the child knows has been taken to the Campbelltown Police Department and is an assistant to the police.

Police are investigating and have identified the crime scene.
