CCTV footage has been released after gamer Tao Cheng was found dead in a stairwell.

Police have released a vision of two men they believe will help investigate the suspicious death of a gamer who was found dead on a fire escape in Sydney’s CBD earlier this month.

Tao Cheng, a 25-year-old Chinese national, was last seen entering the FBI Cyber Cafe in the Meriton shopping district on Kent Street around 9pm on December 4th.

His body was found in the fire stairwell at around 3:00 pm on December 7 by cleaners.

Footage released by police on Thursday shows the two men walking down a hallway, talking and laughing at each other. At the end of the 10-second video, one man moves his hand to grab the camera and pull it away.

In an update to the police investigation, Crime Manager Deputy Detective Inspector Austin Devereux revealed that Chen was found with injuries to his face and chest.

“Our main focus today is to clarify why [Cheng] I was in the stairwell and what happened in the stairwell,” she said Thursday morning.

“We urge those men to come forward.”

Devereux said police are still trying to establish a connection between Cheng and Sydney.
