Investigators investigate helicopter crash site

Investigators begin searching for answers in a deadly helicopter crash that killed four people on the Gold Coast after a mid-air collision near SeaWorld.

Around 2 p.m. Monday, a helicopter crashed near the popular SeaWorld theme park, slamming upside down on a sandbar at the water’s edge, widely scattering debris.

Four people were killed on board and three passengers were seriously injured.

The second plane landed safely, but its windshield shattered and many people were injured by broken glass.

Janey Sherman, Queensland Ambulance Supervisor, said another six patients were treated mainly for broken glass wounds.

The popular Gold Coast theme park was devastated by the tragedy and expressed its shock and deepest condolences in a statement.

A spokesperson for Sea World Helicopters said: “We and the entire flying community are devastated by this incident and our deepest condolences to everyone involved, especially the loved ones and family of the deceased.” rice field.

Australian Transport Safety Board (ATSB) Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell said an investigation into the fatal mid-air collision had been launched.

“Transport safety investigators with experience in helicopter operations, maintenance and survivability engineering have been deployed from ATSB’s offices in Brisbane and Canberra,” he said hours after the crash on Monday.

Investigators will examine the wreckage, map the accident scene, gather available recorded data for analysis, and interview witnesses and other parties involved.

A preliminary report is expected to be published in the next 6-8 weeks.

As the investigation into the tragedy continues, Prime Minister Anastasia Parashchka also extended her condolences to all involved.

“My deepest condolences to the families and everyone affected by this horrific accident,” she tweeted.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Australia was shocked by the horrific and tragic events on the Gold Coast.
