Uber has released a new in-app feature that allows female and non-binary drivers to accept travel requests for female riders only.

Rideshare companies have added the Women Rider Preference to give drivers more choice of vehicles to accept and give them the confidence to drive at optimal revenue times, such as in the evening.

Accessed from the Uber Driver app, it can indicate that female and non-binary drivers want to pick up only females.

Drivers identified as female and non-binary can automatically access this feature.

Catia Fazio, 47, has been an Uber driver since 2019 because she gave her the flexibility to do other part-time jobs, socialize, and make extra money.

“I rarely have a bad experience with passengers,” Fazio said.
