Frontline workers benefit from new behind the scenes

Nepean Hospital’s BOH services or “general services” include the services necessary to keep the hospital running smoothly behind the scenes, including receiving and distributing goods, linen, cleaning services, and waste disposal. Includes management.

Drew Greig, General Services Manager at Nepean Hospital, which oversees approximately 300 staff, said the new BOH area will streamline critical processes, ultimately improving working conditions for frontline workers at Nepean Hospital. says it will be done.

“The new dock will allow us to accept three trucks at a time, increasing our ability to move goods quickly,” he said. “At the moment, we can only accept one truck at a time, so it takes time to unload medical supplies and other items to the docks and distribute them throughout the hospital.

“This will in turn benefit frontline staff and patients. It can be picked up and distributed immediately without having to unload it from the truck.

The BOH team will also be provided with larger storage facilities.

“At the moment, we have minimal storage space, which is impacting hospital services,” he said.

“More storage means that hospitals can be served faster. All of this streamlines the hospital supply and distribution chain.
