Sydney Harbor Bridge closed for Pride Grand Finale

The Sydney Harbor Bridge will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning for the final event of the World Pride Festival.

The march departs North Sydney at 7am and ends at The Domain and Hyde Park North across the bridge. It is scheduled for 10:00 am.

New South Wales Police remind drivers of major road closures and special event clearways in and around the CBD, including Sydney Harbor Bridge, Warringah Freeway and Cahill Expressway on Macquarie Street doing.

The bridge reopens at 11:30am, but the CBD, North Sydney, Pyrmont, Darling Harbour, and Moore Park will maintain clearways for special events until 1:30pm. It will be towed.

Buses that cross the Harbor Bridge normally start and end services in North Sydney or the city while the bridge is closed. Those who need to cross the bridge by public transport can take the train instead.

Oxford Street between Flinders Street and Liverpool Street in Darlinghurst will remain closed until 4:30 am on Mondays for the Sydney World Pride Street Party.

The northbound lane of Flinders Street is closed from Moore Park Road to Oxford Street. Motorists are advised to avoid this area or prepare for delays on the detour route through King’s Cross and Surry Hills, including William Street and Cleveland Street.

Operation World Pride 2023 commander and deputy commissioner Tony Cook said police were working closely with event organizers and roads were closed to support the event.
