Wallabies star Kurtley Beale arrested for sexual assault

Rugby union star Kurtley Beale has been suspended from the sport after being arrested during a stop and charged with alleged sexual assault.

The 34-year-old Wallabies winger was detained by police on Friday in an alleged incident in eastern Sydney on 17 December last year.

Police received a report that a 28-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at a licensed facility on Beach Road, Bondi Beach.

“Detectives from the Eastern Suburban Police Regional Command have taken up the matter and launched an investigation under Strikeforce Titherridge,” the police said in a statement.

Beale was arrested at a depot in Kingsford around 2:30 pm on Friday after training.

He was taken to Waverley Police Station for questioning, after which he allegedly touched another person sexually without his consent, encouraged another person to have sexual contact without his consent, and had sex without his consent. was indicted on one count.

Biel was denied bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

Rugby Australia has announced that Beal has been immediately suspended from all forms of rugby pending legal proceedings.
