Victoria Covid-19: Seven companies closed due to limit breach

Melbourne’s retail and beauty facilities are one of seven Victorian companies closed due to violations of the state’s CovidSafe regulations.

In the last three months, companies have been fined more than $ 52,000 after authorized officers visited 22,000 venues as part of a crackdown on violations of the Chief Health Officer’s instructions.

Among the closed businesses were the St Albans shop and the Health & Beauty Salon in South Melbourne, which were traded without permission during the blockade.

The salon was closed due to the density limit being exceeded and the density assignment sign, CovidSafe plan, and QR code check-in system missing.

As a result of state government activities, 17 infringement notices were issued, plus 275 written warnings, 598 improvement notices, and 40 Covid-19 health directive violation notices.

Last week alone, 168 instances of companies that did not comply with the state’s QR code rules were detected.

Deputy Minister of Police and Emergency Services Danny Pearson of Victoria should serve as a fair warning to all companies that “significantly violate the rules” aimed at stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Said.

“We have the instructions of the Chief Health Officer to keep us all safe, and we look forward to their role in helping businesses follow the rules and keep Victoria open,” he said. Told.

“QR code check-in data is very important for contact tracers to quickly understand outbreaks, and there is no reason why they didn’t keep these details as needed.

“This is a warning to all businesses. If you violate the rules significantly, do not hesitate to fine or shut down to protect public security.”
