Unprecedented flood swamp Southern France village

According to local media, heavy rains caused a serious flood in the province of Gardo in southern France on September 14, causing enormous damage to property and vehicles. In Codognan, the Rhoney River swelled to “swallow some districts,” La Chain Info said, adding that locals had never seen such a thing. The footage posted by Steph Vignau shows a fast-flowing flood in Kodonyan. In response to the flood, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin visited Gardo and called on the locals to stay vigilant, saying they would get his full support. Credit: Steph Vignau via Storyful
