Adelaide’s drug dealers are believed to be at the center of the three suspected murderers, with one victim overdose to avoid allegations.

SA police have launched one of the largest task forces with 42 personnel to investigate the deaths of Robert Atkins, Trevor King, and Jeff Mandy.

In January 2020, King’s body was found in Westlakes. His death was initially believed to be suicide.

But officials now believe that the 41-year-old was killed and staged to look like an overdose.

The mass investigation began after Robert Atkins, 31, who was in debt for drugs, disappeared in 2020.

SA police claim he was taken prisoner for about a week before he was forced to commit a crime because of the prisoners.

CCTV footage released Wednesday showed Atkins at checkout with another man – police say they knew and were detained on an unrelated issue.

Suspects of murder can be seen paying for goods with a credit card and immediately handing them over to another man.

Atkins is believed to have been killed in the Port Pirie or Booborowi area before his body was left near Orroroo.

The registered S556AJE 2010 Black Jeep Liberty is a car believed to have been used by the suspect.
