The first image of a man arrested on suspicion of kidnapping Cleo Smith shows him being badly bandaged behind an ambulance.
Cleo was allegedly taken out of his family’s tent during a camp at Kuoba Blow Hall in MacLeod, Western Australia, on October 16.
She was finally rescued from a nearby Carnerbon house around 1 am Wednesday after a detective was forced to break into the premises and find her alone in the room.
A 36-year-old man has been detained and cross-examined by police. There is no charge.
However, 7 News captured a video footage of a man behind an ambulance.
The photo provided to NCA NewsWire shows a man under strict police security.
He appears to have an injury to his head and has a bandage around his head.
Detective Rod Wilde, chief investigator, told reporters that police had no other suspects in the case.
“It looks opportunistic,” he said.
Police Secretary Chris Dawson said a man unknown to Cleo’s family was helping the police investigation.
