Supercars have confirmed that all four rounds prior to Bathurst 1000 will take place at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Supercars Championship will race on SMP for four consecutive weeks starting at the end of October.

Some races are set to take place under the lights, so the four rounds will take advantage of different circuit configurations, different race formats and lighting at Sydney Motorsport Park.

It’s not known which layout to use, but we know that the first and last events are three-day meetings, and the middle two are short, sharp two-day events.

After a three-month hiatus, a supercar will appear on the truck in SMP on Friday, October 29th.

The first event will be held from October 29th to October 31st, followed by rounds from November 6th to 7th and November 13th to 14th.

The finals of the four events are posted on the Supercars website as the official Sydney Super Night and will definitely host the race under the lights.

The final SMP round will take place two weeks before Bathurst 1000, giving the team ample time to travel to Bathurst for the six-day event.

Fans are welcomed in all four SMP rounds and ticket details will be provided in the coming days. Supercars will offer multi-event packages, family packages, park and view, grandstands and general admission options.

“It’s worthy to return to the race at Sydney Motorsport Park, as we did in 2020. These first races have produced some of the best entertainment in the years, and this time around, it’s no exception. “Supercar CEO Sean Seamer said.

“The venue is world-class, and under its new permanent lighting, you can see the fans on the circuit and watching the game at home spectacularly.

“First and foremost, I’m happy to be back, but I’ll use everything SMP offers to help me host the best show possible.

“We look forward to seeing our fans at all five events. We’ll keep you updated on their availability in the coming weeks.”

“I would like to personally thank Minister Ayers, his destination in New South Wales, and, of course, his time at Glenn and ARDC for everything they did to make this happen. “

The Supercars planned to complete the doubleheader at the Queensland Raceway before the second round at SMP, but the series organizers could not agree on terms with the Queensland authorities.

As a result, the Victorian team was not allowed to enter Sunshine with an AFL-style hub, as previously reported by AA.

This paved the way for four unprecedented rounds in a row at one venue.

The SMP includes several circuit configurations, including the 3.93km Gardner circuit that supercars regularly use.

The 2.8km Druitt circuit, raced by supercars in the 90’s, is still in use today, as is the Brabham circuit, which includes a 600m extension to the Gardner circuit that supercars have never used before.

“The Australian Racing Drivers Club is proud to be able to drive with a supercar at this historic one-month race showcase at Sydney Motorsport Park,” Glenn Matthews (ARDC CEO) said. Says.

“Sydney Motorsports Park is a large and proven event venue, ready for this exciting challenge for four consecutive rounds.

“ARDC would like to thank our partners for the many valuable events and experiences that have paved the way for this unique series of races.”

It is unclear which support categories compete in different SMP rounds.

The details of the full broadcast will be revealed in due course.

The supercar will once again work closely with health authorities on COVID safety measures at the venue to ensure the safety of all participants.
