The refreshed SEAT Ibiza Supermini promises a higher quality interior than ever before, along with an evolutionary redesign.
SEAT confirmed that the middle-aged renovation is heading for Ibiza. The reworked car will be released on April 15th, along with an updated version of Arona, a small SUV compatible car.
The renovation of Ibiza will take place during a fluid period. The immensely popular Ford Fiesta, like Ibiza’s closest relationship, the Volkswagen Polo, will be under the knife again this year. Fellow VW group brand Skoda will announce the all-new Fabia in 2021.
Our spy hasn’t caught the updated Ibiza on the camera, but judging from the updates going down Arona’s path, it would be a mild visual overhaul. SEAT describes it as an “evolved design” and will extend to the redesigned front bumper in addition to the new front headlights and grille treatment.
The teaser image published by SEAT shows the back of the updated hatchback and the new face of the Arona SUV. The only obvious change here seems to be the new Ibiza badge confirming the switch to the handwriting style font used in the latest SEAT models.
In addition to minor exterior design changes, the brand says Ibiza will benefit from “significant technical upgrades.” SEAT states that digital capabilities will be enhanced. This shows that updated infotainment software is an important aspect of Ibiza’s midlife refreshment.
The brand also states that it aims to improve the level of quality perceived in the cabin, perhaps pointing to the use of newer, more exclusive interior materials.
