Queen’s cause of death announced as Prince Harry reveals he didn’t find it in less than three hours

It was revealed yesterday that the Queen died of “old age” in Balmoral, the first time a monarch’s death certificate is believed to have been made public.

However, after it was confirmed in detail that Prince Harry was not informed of his grandmother’s death for more than three hours, the document raises interesting questions.

Only King Charles and his sister, Princess Anne, were with their mother when she died at 3:10 pm on September 8th.

Prince Edward and Lady Sophie, as well as Prince Andrew and Prince William, were on a plane heading to Scotland at the time and are believed to have been notified over the air.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry didn’t even make it to the airport, appearing confused as to whether he should travel to Aberdeenshire with his wife, Meghan Markle.

He finally boarded a private jet from Luton at 5:35pm and landed in Aberdeen at 6:47pm.

Palace sources say his father was only able to make contact with his son over the air at 6:25 p.m., just five minutes before the official announcement of the news the world had feared. has been confirmed.

Prince Charles insisted all afternoon to speak to his youngest son privately before Buckingham Palace released an official statement.

He had already called both Harry and his brother William earlier in the day to tell them to go to Scotland as soon as possible as their grandmother was declining rapidly.

He then returned to the Queen’s bedside.

However, there was a crucial 2 hours and 25 minutes left between the Queen’s death and Harry taking to the air, and there appears to have been no communication between the Prince and his family.

In contrast, Prime Minister Liz Truss was notified at 4:30 p.m.

Palace officials declined to comment last night, but other royal sources were unable to explain the discrepancy.

But insiders stressed that the old-fashioned king doesn’t have a cell phone, and his diary says calls between himself and his family usually have to be “scheduled.”

The family has to call staff or rely on one of the police bodyguards to deliver an urgent message to him.

Others said it was likely that the King wanted to tell his son personally, but time simply ran out as the clock ticked towards the release of the official announcement.

Sources familiar with Operation London Bridge, a plan to manage the aftermath of the Queen’s death, say there would have been many administrators who would have had to deal with, as well as deal with the grief of the inevitable situation. emphasized the

“As with all things, we are sure there is a meticulous plan on paper, but the turmoil in real life comes in the trauma of their personal grief,” said one. I was.

Another source explains that very few people “in the family” are in regular contact with Harry anymore and that it can be “incredibly hard to get in touch with.”

Whatever the truth, it highlights the complexity of the royal family’s relationship with Harry.Harry left Balmoral on the first flight possible from Aberdeen the morning after his grandmother died.

He remained in England until the day after the funeral, and was seen publicly with his brother and his wife on the Windsor Promenade and at the funeral itself.

He was also seen staying up all night. The possibility of a family quarrel has already been raised behind the scenes after it was revealed that the flight to Scotland carrying Edward, Andrew and William was delayed by an hour.

It was scheduled for 1:30pm, but didn’t take off until 2:39pm. Just before 2pm that day, a spokesperson for the Sussex family announced that both Harry and Meghan would be traveling to Scotland together.

This came as a surprise to many, as only close relatives were expected to attend, with the exception of the Countess of Wessex and Princess Anne’s husband Vice Admiral Tim Lawrence.

Kate, then Duchess of Cambridge, decided to stay with her and William’s three children in Windsor.

Half an hour after the initial announcement, a spokesperson for the Sussexes issued a correction, stating that only Harry intended to travel.

This discrepancy was later described as a “mistake”.

Harry’s team hurriedly chartered a private jet from Luton.

The Sun later claimed that Harry missed his Royal Air Force flight because of a “fight over Meghan” after telling him it was “not appropriate” to bring Meghan.

It is also claimed that Charles tried to call his son to tell him that his grandmother had passed away, but the call did not go through.

Harry knew his father was going to talk to him, but the prince allegedly actually read the breaking news online before using technology to speak.

The royal family disputes this, but a spokesman for the king claims that the queen’s obituary “was not announced until the entire family was notified.”

The Queen’s death certificate was finally released by Scottish Registrar General Paul Lowe just three weeks after she died.

By law, you must register within 8 days. This certificate records that her widow, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, died at Balmoral Castle, Ballater, Aberdeenshire, at the age of 96.

Her usual residence is Windsor Castle and her occupation is listed as “Her Majesty the Queen”.

The registered physician was Douglas James Allan Glass. He has been an apothecary at Her Majesty’s House in Balmoral since 1998.

The doctor, a family doctor in the village of Bremer near Balmoral, told The Times that being present at her death “wasn’t unexpected.”

“We have been concerned about the Queen’s health for several months,” he said.

The cause of death, ‘old age’, is the same one given to Prince Philip in April 2021.

In Scotland it should not be recorded as the sole cause, but there are exceptions such as a licensed physician taking personal care of the deceased for a long period of time and observing a gradual decline.
