Police search for intruders in Adamstown’s home with a knife | Newcastle Herald

News, local news,

Police were looking for a man who appeared to have a knife after the robbery worsened in Adamstown on Sunday. A police officer was called to the address of Gree Broad at around 10:15 am after being reported that a man had invaded his house. Witnesses told police that the man had escaped from the scene on foot and jumped over the backyard fence. He probably had a knife, but there were no reports of injuries. Police officers in the Newcastle City Police District established a crime scene and, with the help of a squad of dogs, set boundaries for the search for a man. A police spokesperson said the investigation was underway on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, police officers charged 37 people and seized eight knives during a two-day operation to thwart crimes on Sydney’s public transport network.
