Perth man Nicholas Simon Lee arrested in Bali on suspicion of possessing stimulants

Perth miners face the possibility of a long Bali prison stint after being arrested by island police for possessing methamphetamine.

Nicholas Simon Lee was reportedly arrested after his villa was attacked by police on Tuesday night.

Police reportedly discovered 0.82 grams of stimulant owned by Mr Lee internally. Nine News reported Thursday night.

He was with another man at that time.

A 50-year-old man from Perth was on a popular tourist island on vacation after traveling from Papua New Guinea. There he works in the country’s mining industry.

Police alleged that he had been on the Indonesian island for two weeks before Lee was arrested and bought stimulants in Kuta for about $ 150.

Attorney Edward Pankahira said Lee was upset about his decision and apologized to his family and friends.

“He said he had quit (stimulants) for four years … When he came to Bali, he started doing it again,” said Pankahira.

“He is very (regretted) about the situation.”

Lee faces up to 12 years in prison for possessing stimulants if convicted.
