Defense Minister Peter Dutton likened former Prime Minister Paul Keating to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in the 1930s and gave his view on China.
The appeasement policy, established by Mr Chamberlain in the hope of avoiding war, was the name given to Britain’s policy in the 1930s to allow Germany to expand its territory to neighboring countries without interference.
“Looking at Paul Keating, Neville Keating, Paul Chamberlain … I mean you can choose,” Dutton told the National Press Club.
“I think these are all pretty good monicas for Paul Keating.
“I can’t see Paul Keating telling the truth in 2021 for the rest of his life.”
