coronavirus,

Cases of NSW COVID-19 have again surged above the 300 mark, and more cases of Omicron have been reported in the state. The eighth case, arriving by plane from Singapore, was confirmed overnight. Fully vaccinated travelers have been quarantined at the hotel since arriving at the end of last month and have recently been in southern Africa. From 24 hours to 8 pm Thursday, over 80,000 tests were conducted across the state. The 337 new cases mean that there are 140 cases in New South Wales hospitals and 25 cases require intensive care. The Friday update did not add any new deaths to the pandemic victims. The first dose to people over 16 years old remains at 94.6%, and the second dose is 92.6%. For those 12 to 15, the numbers are 81.3 percent and 76.9 percent, respectively. A more detailed update is scheduled for 11:00 am, including a breakdown of fresh cases by the local health district.
