“I always noticed he was coughing, so I wanted to check it,” Canon, 41, explained (via). Entertainment Tonight). “He was taking this interesting breath, and by the time he was two months old, he realized he had this nicely sized head, the Canon’s head.
“We weren’t thinking about it, but I wanted to take him to the doctor for sinusitis and breathing. I thought it was a daily routine.”
Canon and Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen in June. The family learned that Canon’s seventh child, Zen, had accumulated fluid in his brain. It turned out to be a malignant tumor.
Baby Zen had surgery to put in a shunt to drain the liquid. Unfortunately, the infant’s health changed near Thanksgiving, so Cannon flew to Los Angeles with Zen and Alyssa.
“This weekend I tried to spend the most fulfilling time with Zen. We woke up on Sunday and went to the sea with him and Alyssa. Then I went to New York for the show. I had to go back, “he shared with tears. “On my way to the airport, I got a call to go back to Zen.”
Cannon then tearfully shared that he held his son at the end of this weekend.
“You can’t heal until you feel it,” he told the audience, adding that he was working immediately because it served as a distraction.
He called the episode Zen’s “celebration of life.”
After Cannon shared the news with the viewer, Alyssa shared a Zen photo in her arms lying with her eyes closed on her Instagram story.
