Melbourne Cup: Delta Goodrem’s pre-race performance has received a variety of reviews

Delta Goodrem’s energetic pre-race performance at the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday split the Panther.

The nine-minute show by the Victoria Racing Club Ambassador kicked off with a pre-recorded cover of Peter Allen’s Tenterfield Sadler and her own track, Keep Climbing.

Both were recorded in the Twin Hills Stud paddock in Cootamundra, New South Wales, and Goodrem was playing a grand piano.

The performance then went live in Flemington, where the Australian performed her song “The Power”.

A 36-year-old woman in an impressive silk-orange dress with shoulder pads and cloak owned the stage, and a backup singer improved her performance.

The show got a lot of attention on social media, and certainly people talked and many praised it as pitch perfect.

“Delta Goodrem is absolute perfection,” began an ardent review.

“This was the most beautiful entertainment presentation ever at the Melbourne Cup. Congratulations to Delta and the team.”

Another said Goodrem “absolutely killed this performance.”

“I’m very excited about next year’s tour.”

However, some people saw something that was not impressive.

“Delta Goodrem’s performance was put into the mix as if watching a horse race wasn’t a pain,” tweeted one person.

Another Panther at home wondered why they chose the Chart Topper over another Australian artist.

“Delta Goodrem … Is Norcy no longer available?” Twitter user @ Fingers681 pondered.

Another pinned it for a much simpler introduction to a big race.

“Delta Goodrem? F *** I! Just play the recording of the national anthem,” they said.

Goodrem was previously shining after arriving at the cup with a mustard playsuit and a giant pink bow wrapped around his waist.

The Lost Without You hit maker complemented the look with a bright pink wide-brimmed hat.

On the track, a race to stop the country was held by Verry Elleegant and steered by Hoop’s James McDonald.

“I love her a little. She was very kind to me. They can safely say she is now the champion,” McDonald said of the winning mare.

The incentive to temporarily welcome the winner at the top of the straight was held second in the third longest off-neck Spanish mission ($ 10).
