After being stabbed overnight in northern New South Wales, one man died and two were injured.
Police were called to a house on Mackenzie Street in Lismore around 11:10 pm on Friday due to welfare concerns.
Upon arrival, police found three people (two men aged 24 and 60 and a woman in their thirties) suffering puncture wounds.
Young man died on the scene despite the efforts of paramedics
Older men and women were taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
The older man had a laceration in his neck and was in a stable condition.
The woman had a laceration in her arm and was in a stable condition.
All three were known to each other.
Richmond police officers have established a crime scene and are investigating the case.
