Former NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay resigns

Former New South Wales Labor Party leader Jodi McKay has announced that she will resign from parliament, causing by-elections in yet another state.

McKay, who resigned as opposition leader earlier this year, issued a statement on Sunday afternoon confirming that he would resign as a member of Strathfield in parliament 15 years later.

“The blockade gives us time to look back and think about our future,” McKay said.

Ms. McKay is the fifth new to resign within the past month, following former Prime Minister Gladys Berejikrian, Deputy Prime Minister John Barilaro, Transport Minister Andrew Constance, and Holsworthy Congressman Melanie Gibbons. Become a member of the South Wales State Assembly.
