New South Wales Police make first arrests in connection with shooting death of motorcycle boss Tarek Zahed’s brother

A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with the shooting that killed the brother of biker kingpin Tarek Zahed in western Sydney earlier this year.

The Comanchero boss survived the assassination attempt, but continued to fight for his life after a body-fit fitness center in Auburn was attacked with bullet spray shortly after 8:00 p.m. I spent several months.

Tarek, 41, was shot ten times, including in the head.

Prior to the shooting, he was living in Victoria and visiting New South Wales despite police warnings that he was a marked man.

Detectives arrested the man at around 10:30 pm on Saturday at Sydney’s domestic terminal as part of an ongoing investigation.

The man was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with covering up an indictable serious crime.

He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

At the time of the shooting, the squad battling burgeoning gang violence across Sydney was boosted by New South Wales Police Commissioner Karen Webb, who said they needed to “keep working on this”.

The State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, under Strike Force Leary, was initially tasked with the investigation and later formed part of Task Force Erebus, an operation to coordinate the efforts of the Gang Combat Squad.

In August of this year, Tarek Zahed was indicted for the 2014 murder.
