Drunk medical student groped for two colleagues

A heavy-drinking medical student accused of sexually assaulting two female colleagues told one of them that she was a “good girl” while she fell asleep and gave him an internship. Can be completed.

An unnamed 26-year-old man entered one of the women’s dorm rooms when he completed a rotation in Victoria in May 2019.

He is said to have climbed the bed with the sleeping woman, put his hands in her pants, groped her bottom, rubbed her breasts, and kissed her neck. ..

A 26-year-old boy said “I’m sorry” and “You’re a good boy” before leaving the room, according to a document released by the Victorian Civil Administration Court this week.

Another student saw him “crouching” outside the woman’s room. However, the charges were not filed because the woman said she did not want to proceed with the complaint to the police.

The man was accused of sexually assaulting another woman who shared an apartment near an overseas hospital where they were studying in June 2019.

He climbed her bed and groped her breasts before going out to the floor next to her and lying down.

Both women were severely emotionally affected.

The man later told authorities that he had drunk too much on both occasions.

According to court documents, he had no memory of touching the first woman and was “shocked, stunned, and devastated” when he learned of her allegations.

However, he did not disagree with her claim and admitted that he had attacked a second female.

He also claimed to have drunk too much in response to college and work-related stress, as the allegations sought expert help to combat his drinking.

VCAT senior member John Billings, member Patricia Molloy, and member Laurie Wharf have imposed conditions on his medical registration this week.

He must be supervised in a non-clinical role that does not require contact with the patient.

They said he poses a public security risk to colleagues and vulnerable female patients. However, this risk had to be managed with “minimal damage” to his profession.

“The suspension of (male) registration will seriously hinder his medical career, especially in the early stages when he needs to complete his internship,” said Billings, Dr. Molloy, and Dr. Wharf.

Men are required to complete an internship program of at least 20 weeks. This includes two more rotations.
