Covid-19: Victorian teenager dies in Covid

A 15-year-old girl said seven coronaviruses died overnight in the state, and authorities said she had other symptoms as well.

The 15-year-old girl is one of seven Covid-19 deaths overnight in Victoria, while the number of cases in Victorian hospitals is skyrocketing.

Covid test commander Yeron Weimar did not comment on the girl’s death situation, only stating that she had some symptoms and was infected with the virus.

“The 15-year-old died very sadly. We believe in many conditions, but she was positive for Covid,” Weimar said on Saturday.

“This is a very sad and tragic event. I have nothing more to comment on her, but especially last but not least, I send my best wishes to her family and the families of all those who died in Covid. 24hours.”

Currently, there are 798 people in the hospital, and Weimar said this was a remarkable increase.

Hospitalization includes 163 people in the intensive care unit, 160 of whom are on ventilators.

Of those hospitalized on Friday, 89% were not fully vaccinated and 96% of those in the intensive care unit were not double-jabed.

“This is a significant increase over the last 24 hours, and I think it really reflects the increase in cases seen over the last 10 or 14 days,” Weimar said.

Victoria recorded a new locally acquired case in 1993, including 168 new cases in the Victoria region, overnight, and Weimar said that cases were significantly more common throughout southeastern Melbourne. He said it had increased.

Infectious diseases have been detected in the suburbs of Hampton Park, Cranbourne North, Clyde, Narre Warren, Dandenong, Noble Park, Keysborough, Frankston and Cardinia.

Weimar said the incident continued to spread like a wildfire within and between homes.

“We are seeing the continued growth of household-to-household transmission across many different communities,” he said.

“I think we have more and more things to be aware of. Every day we do that we all want to do, but we can’t do, allows the spread of the virus. It means that there is.

“Again, if you’re in the southeast, be aware of the levels of Covid infection you see around here. If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, do so.”

More than two-thirds of the cases that occurred yesterday in Victoria were among those who were not vaccinated at all.

Weimar said there would be “isolated individuals” who refused to be vaccinated against Covid and whose departments and businesses require jabs to find alternative career options.

His comments are issued the day after the state mandates key workers to vaccinate.

However, Weimar said he believes that “the majority of Victorians” believe it is reasonable to be vaccinated in the current climate.

“Think of what we want from you is the same as what we want from all Victorian people: to protect ourselves and our communities.”
