Covid-19 SA: State offers cash for quarantine

Some residents who have been quarantined after being at a Covid-19 exposed site can get a one-time $ 300 payment.

Residents of South Australia who need quarantine after being tested for Covid-19 and do not have access to paid leave or other income support can receive a $ 300 payment.

The state government has reinstated one-time Covid-19 cluster separation payments as SA continued to block due to the expansion of the Modbury cluster.

Human Services Minister Michel Rensink says the government is “challenging” for many people, especially temporary workers, only merchants, and others who cannot earn regular income, with a strict seven-day limit. Said that he understood.

She said payments would be welcomed by South Australians who were not eligible for federal Covid-19 disaster payments held when the metropolitan Adelaide was declared a national hotspot.

“If you miss a shift or cancel a client’s reservation because you had to quarantine while waiting for test results, you may be eligible for this payment,” Rensink said.

To qualify, you must visit one of the exposed sites within the stated time after July 17, undergo a Covid-19 test, and self-quarantine until the test results are available.

You must also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and be at least 17 years old, scheduled to work during the period of self-isolation, not eligible for paid leave or other income support.
