British sports fans shared a photo of an exorbitantly priced snack purchased at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
It seems that the best swimmers in the world were competing for gold and food prices for the most ridiculous amount on Friday night in Birmingham, England.
Matthew Williams, who attended the swimming event, shared a photo of a brief snack and sausage of chips on Twitter.
Sounds harmless, but the price wasn’t. William’s meal purchased from the Sandwell Leisure Center cost more than $ 17.
according to news.com.au “I have a lot to give you, but the chips were delicious and the sausages were clearly the winners!” Tweeted Williams.
“God Only Knows [what it won for]But apparently it did! “
But neither the fans nor the press were as generous as Williams.
In an article about sausage blunders, news.com.au writes that prices are an example of “the long tendency to eat at sporting events doesn’t provide value to fans.”
Twitter users write: There was a robbery in Birmingham. Another continued the theme of “Highwayman”, “How much! It costs £ 5 at a local tip shop. Nikko robbery.”
“I want to report an international war crime,” another person wrote.
Others were more creative in their insults, such as “Jesus, I think I have a better tan than those chips.”
He further commented on the condition of the thin-looking chips and asked, “Do I need to pay more to cook the chips?”
One user suggested that sandwiches be available in the future.
“Ikes” was written by someone else and explained the situation properly.
But while Australians are accustomed to soaring the price of football sausage rolls, almost $ 20 seems too high, even for us.
“At least the Adelaide Oval isn’t that bad (and £ 9.80 is $ 17),” a South Australian woman tweeted.
Williams seems to have shared photos of food purchased at other sports stadiums since at least July on his Twitter page.
His previous post was a much more affordable snack. The “ridiculously good chip butty” from the Guisely Associated Football Club was only $ 4.36.
