Covid-19 restrictions can be disruptive to hosts for next month’s FFA Cup match.
Perth Glory, Melbourne Victory, Western United and Newcastle Jet have been rescheduled for at least one Round of 32 match due to uncertain dates for a cup playoff match involving four A-League clubs. May be added.
Glory was scheduled to host a victory in a playoff clash at Dorian Gardens on August 8, but the match will be postponed for at least a week.
The winner of the game will meet the NPL South Australia Club Adelaide City in a Round of 32 game at the Steve Woodcock Sports Center. This should be rescheduled from the original date, August 18th.
The home playoffs with United’s Jets are tentatively scheduled for August 17, but they also face the potential to be pushed back further.
The winner of the United Jet clash will host Wellington Phoenix in a 32 round match that hasn’t been dated yet.
The scheduled dates for the other rounds of the 32 games remain locked for now.
“At this point, all other matches will remain on schedule and the Football Australia will frequently assess the developing situation,” the FA said Thursday.
In A-League news, Sydney FC has signed with former Melbourne Victory attacker Elvis Kamsova.
“I’m excited to represent the biggest and most successful club in the A-League,” said Kamsova.
Elsewhere, a new Brisbane Roars striker, the Argentine import Juan Rescano, has arrived in Australia and is quarantining in Sydney with a young family.
Rescano and another new Brisbane signature, former Skyblues young gun Luke Ivanovic, will join their new teammates in the first week of roaring pre-season training starting August 2.
Roaring coach Warren Moon has renewed his staff, and his new right-wing man was Scott Guyett, a former director of sports science at Crystal Palace.
Former Brisbane analyst Pouria Nabi will be Moon’s second assistant coach.
