AFL 2021: Fremantle Dockers Assistant Coach Josh Kerr Polices Monsters for Quarantine Violations

Fremantle Dockers assistant coach Josh Kerr was fined $ 25,000 and suspended for four games after violating the Government of Western Australia’s quarantine instructions.

Former Port Adelaide and Fremantle players violated home quarantine orders after returning to Perth from the Gold Coast where the Dockers were playing on July 25.

Kerr was instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days, but when he visited his residence during the quarantine period, police discovered that Kerr was not at home.

The car, which was stranded by the club earlier this year, has already been suspended for two games. He will be the rest in the first two rounds of the 2022 season.

According to Dockers, Kerr agreed to pay half of the fine himself, and the other half was stopped by AFL.

According to Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick, Carr, who was also fined $ 6,000 by WA police, is dissatisfied with his actions.

“The level of cooperation and understanding between all parties this season and last year is why we were able to continue playing,” Garlic said in a statement.

“That’s not something we take for granted, nor is it the broader obligation of clubs and AFL to do the right thing to the community.

“Josh has shown a clear disappointment for his actions and will continue to support the club as a member of a very valuable staff.”

In another statement, Andrew Dillon, Executive General Manager of Soccer at AFL, added:

“We are in a privileged position to continue the match and must respect that privilege given to us by the relevant state government.”

Dockers missed his return to the finals this year in the second season of Justin Longmuir’s coaching term. The club hasn’t tasted the action of September since 2015.

Crosstown rival West Coast also missed the playoffs, and the 2021 final series did not feature the Western Australian team for the first time since 2009.
