17-year-old boy charged with terrorism and possession

A teenage boy is in prison after being charged with possession, including “intent to kill or harm,” by a specialized terrorism unit.

Officers from the South Australian Police Counter-Terrorism and Security Section arrested a 17-year-old boy from Felixstowe on Friday.

He was charged with possessing an item with intent to kill or harm.

The boy appeared in Adelaide Youth Court on Friday and was denied bail.

He was taken into custody to appear in court again on Wednesday, January 25.

Police said an investigation was ongoing.

There are no public safety concerns.
